Shortcuts in Windows Server 8 Beta

Einige Zeit ist die Beta des Windows Server 8 bereits in der Community unterwegs. Am meisten muss man sich, so denke ich, an das neue Design und die damit veränderte Steuerung gewöhnen. Da ich sehr gern mit Tastenkürzeln arbeite, galt es herauszufinden welche Tastenkürzel die Server 8 Beta mit sich bringt:

Update SCSM 2012 RC to RTM

So.. SCSM was also updated to RTM. Everything worked fine. Only the System Center Management-configuration service made some issue…

Update – SQL Developer on Citrix XenApp won´t start

Here is another Citrix problem…

I installed SQL Developer an published it over XenApp. After installing RUP06 problems occured on starting SQL Developer.

The solution was brought through Citrix Forum:

Renaming the File: C:\Program Files\Citrix\System32\icammdrv.dll to icammdrvold.dll was the solution for me. The application starts without any problem.

But Keiichi Suzuki Reporter this to me:

After renaming icammdrv.dll (to icammdrvold.dll) and rebooting, SQL developer successfully working with ICA session. However, when I tried to configure ICA/RDP sessions from Terminal Services Configurations -> ICA/RDP-tcp, then Citrix installer ran and recovered icammdrv.dll file.

To prevent icammdrv.dll file to recover, I created 0 byte text file and renamed it icammdrv.dll.
So far, it is working without error.

I tried this too… And it Works.

Application Approval Workflow for SCSM / SCORCH 2012 – AAW – Configuration

Ich habe in meiner Testumgebung den AAW installiert. Jedoch habe ich ihn bis heute nicht zum laufen bekommen. Nach einiger Koresspondenz mit Jim Wightman von Microsoft war der Fehler recht schnell zu finden:

Beim Ausführen der Applikationssynchronisierung werden Warning-Events im SCORCH generiert. Die Meldung darin lautet: “The user requested that this Platform Event be generated if the object fails”…mhh nunja.

Ein Blick in die Log History brachte dann immerhin einen recht eindeutigen Fehler. Ein Tipp von Jim brachte dann meinen Durchbruch (wer denkt schon über WMI Querys nach):

how to find install date

Evertime a new prject starts the first question is how long the old clients an servers are running. A very important question is the installation date.

The easiest way to find out system install date is:

start command line and type in “systeminfo” …wait one moment and you can see the real installtion date
systeminfio

Notepad++ – filter Log Files

Today something abroad my normal topics. I had to check some logs and there was a problem:

There was a Log containing round about 470.000 lines. I had to extract these Lines containing an Error. My first idea was to script something, but i thought a bit more about using Notepad++ to resolve this issue. So the solution is very simple:
