The Update Rollup 6 for System Center 2012 R2 Service Manager provides some new features and fixes:


  • Service Manager 2012 R2 now supports Microsoft SQL Server 2014
  • This update contains several improvements for a significant reduction in sync time of the System Center Configuration Manager (CM) connector and the Active Directory connector
  • The Active Directory connector sync schedule is now configurable through the console and Windows PowerShell

  • The Active Directory connector sync generates many warning events that specify Event ID 3305
  • If you delete a System Center Configuration Manager connector, the console hangs until all the associated configuration items are deleted
  • Groups & Users cannot be added to a user role from a domain that is two-way selective authenticated trust with the SM Management Server’s Domain

Update packages for System Center 2012 Service Manager are available from Download Center

For installation follow These steps:

  1. Back up Service Manager, the Data Warehouse databases, the DW OLAP Cube database, and the encryption key
  2. Exit all Service Manager-related applications before you install this update. For example, exit the Service Manager console, the Self-Service Portal links, and the authoring tool
  3. Make sure that the Data Warehouse server has successfully synchronized with the Management server at least one time
  4. Make sure that the update is installed on the Service Manager components in the following order
    • Data Warehouse
    • Primary Management Server
    • Secondary Management Server
    • SCSM Konsolen
    • Self Service Portal
