Update Rollup 8 for System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager available

Microsoft has released Update Rollup 8 for System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager recently

In UR8 there are 8 issues fixed:

• If you have multiple SharePoint farms hosted on the same SQL cluster with different instances but the same database names, DPM cannot back up the correct SharePoint farm content
• If you install Update Rollup 7 for Data Protection Manager 2012 R2, self-service recovery for SQL databases may not work…
• The DPM Agent crashes intermittently during a backup
• …

Installation

Update packages for Data Protection Manager are available from Windows Update or by manual download from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

Before you install this update through Microsoft Update, the Data Protection Manager Administrator Console should be closed.
You may have to restart the Data Protection Manager server after you install this update rollup package.

After Installation of the update on the DPM Server you have to update the Backup Agents. If you have System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager Update Rollup 7 (V4.2.1338.0) installed, the Update Rollup UR8 agent update requires you to restart protected servers

ACHTUNG

Before you install this update, make a backup of the Data Protection Manager database…
